Are you able to disconnect from all things electrical for one hour each day?
Tech Timeout Challenge: Pledge to take a Tech Timeout for at least one hour a day. The goal is to help families build stronger bonds, communicate more personally, and get more involved in each other’s lives without being constantly interrupted by a TV/cellphone/computer screen.
This post is sponsored by Foresters, the minds behind the Tech Timeout Challenge. I definitely agree that we need these technology breaks in order to connect back to “real” life that is happening right in front of our eyes… outside of our screens! Nothing is more irritating than having a conversation with someone who is staring at their phone. Also, for anyone who knows anything about blogging, it is VERY time consuming. My biggest struggle with blogging was figuring out how to devote productive work time that didn’t take away from my husband or kids at the same time. My easiest, most beneficial solution is to only write during naptime and after they are tucked in bed for the night. Now that my husband is working night shift again, I am taking full advantage of my alone time at night to write.
In order to spread awareness of the need to devote more technology-free family time, I am helping Foresters get entries into their Amazon gift card giveaway. They are currently giving away five (5) $100 Amazon gift cards. All that is required for entry is a pinterest account and email. You don’t even have to pledge to participate in the tech timeout challenge, but of course, it is highly encouraged. You pin one of their images and submit the URL along with your email and that’s it! Winners will receive an email December 5, 2014.
You can enter for your chance to win by clicking on the link above. Good luck to four of you, because I could use one of those gift cards myself! 😛
