LIQUID chalk. Who knew that even existed?!
Here, at the Mommy & Love household, we LOVE to do arts and crafts. In fact, this mama right here prefers creating as much homemade, crafty projects as possible. You can even ask my toddler girl who will tell you ALL about our (almost) daily arts and crafts projects. We have fun! Lately, we have really been into drawing and painting on everything from large (recycled) paper, coloring book pages, white boards, chalk boards, and pumpkins to even using bath paints and markers on our own shower walls! There could be not be another perfect time for us to review this unique, paint-like art utensil.
I will start off by telling you a little bit about the Paper & Twine Liquid Chalkers product and then A LOT about how creative we were using them around the house. 😉 Let me just say that my daughter, sister, brother, and I thoroughly enjoyed testing them out. And, that also, my siblings are much better drawers than I am. (Sad face).
The Paper & Twine Liquid Chalkers were created by a mother of three who became fascinated with liquid chalk markers but was dissatisfied with the current brands available. She spent a lot of time and money researching everything to learn about chalk markers in order to create a better alternative that met the creative needs of her family. You can read her full story here.

These markers are intended for use on any non-porous surface such as mirrors, glass, desks, and metal. The most important thing you should do if you are unsure about whether or not the markers will erase from a specific surface is to test them on a small spot, BEFORE you go art-crazy on it. You can find Liquid Chalkers available for purchase on the Paper & Twine website and on Amazon.
Now, to show you the results of all our fun!
My daughter and I dedicated a whole evening (1 hour and 45 minutes past her bedtime) to coloring with the Liquid Chalkers. I think the chalk markers look the coolest on a blackboard because the colors stand out so nicely. They are a lot cleaner to use than regular chalk because there is no chalk dust that coats everything in sight. Also, if my 10 month old wants to suck on them, at least they have a secure cap. I can’t tell you how many pieces of chalk that boy has consumed already! There was minimal residue when we erased both boards and the surfaces cleaned easily with a dry washcloth. Miss A made the biggest mess herself (at no fault to the markers) by deciding to dot her pajamas. That is almost unavoidable with three year olds though…
I found these markers to be especially fun to use on mirrors and car windows! They would be perfect for showing fan support on big game days. If I would have had these markers a week and a half ago (for the Michigan vs Michigan State game), my car would have been COVERED in green and white. Sparty would have been painted on to my passenger seat window for a special ride!
My husband suggested using the markers to record mileage after oil changes, which is a fantastic idea!
But, for a second evening of fun, this is how we used them instead. I drove to my mom’s house and enlisted my brother and sister to help me turn my car into a full on, agricultural sustainability awareness campaign! I also did a blog pitch (because why not)?!
All in all, I say these markers brought us a lot of joy the past couple days. I can see myself buying more to decorate windows or my refrigerator door (???) for the holiday season. I keep looking at my TV screen and thinking about coloring all over it… but I don’t think I would be writing any more blog posts after that!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
