Today, we are spending our very last day of summer 2016 with a nice thunderstorm. It’s always sad to know that the warm weather will be ending soon, but it will be okay. It always returns the following year.
Tomorrow will be a day to welcome autumn into our lives. We can embrace its refreshing, cool mornings and nights with hot apple cider or spiced pumpkin pie. I must say that autumn is my favorite season and it’s important not to let those “pumpkin-spice haters” ruin the comfort of gooey pumpkin-y goods for the rest of us! (Haven’t you noticed people priding themselves in public display of pumpkin spice hatred lately?! They clearly haven’t experimented with homemade pumpkin puree and pumpkin pancakes.)
Before we officially kiss summer goodbye, I’d like to share a handful of family memories from our 2016 summer.
