Happy New Year Everyone! How did you begin your 2015?
New Year’s Baby
We celebrated the first birthday of our sweetest little Fox. I still remember when I announced that we were expecting. All New Year’s Eve, I reminisced about the previous year’s countdown to his grand appearance. I remember walking into the hospital as other people were leaving; they were SO excited to see me in labor. I was about to have THE NEW YEAR’S BABY!! It was a wonderful, yet odd experience because people were cheering and smiling as I suffered in an immense amount of pain. Despite how terrible it was to experience the physical pain of birthing a child, I don’t regret it and would do it a hundred times over in order to have him in my life! His birth was the absolute best part of 2014.
Once the clock struck midnight, I was saddened by the realization of how fast my son’s first year flew by. My baby is growing up TOO fast! With my daughter, I was very excited to experience all her milestones and watch her grow. It was all new and exciting for us as parents. But with my son, it’s different. My husband and I are indecisive about whether or not we want to try for a third child so I just want my son to stay my baby forever! I made sure to cherish each and every moment of my son’s first year since I know how fast time goes. I didn’t take anything for granted and I have had a lot of patience with him. In fact, I am still content waking up in the middle of the night to feed him. His precious little face melts my heart every time. I always feel so thankful and blessed every time I hold him.
Spoiling The Birthday Boy
Cake and ice cream anyone? This baby had one lonnng day filled with family and playtime. Even though he was exhausted mid-party, he thoroughly enjoyed his birthday dessert! I made him a cute little race car cake with blue, black and white frosting. The darker and messier the frosting, the more fun! He had a little scoop of birthday cake ice cream too.
And, of course, he opened birthday presents with the help of his sister and cousins. Thanks to Christmas and his birthday, he finally has some real “boy toys” instead of Ponies, Frozen toys, and Princesses from Miss A. He got some new bathtub boats, a police car, ninja turtles (one of my husband’s favorite childhood toys), a John Cena stuffed toy (I will NEVER understand why people watch WWE.), stylish clothes, puzzles, birthday money, sippy cups, and more. He had a lot of fun.
Tomorrow, it’s time to play!
