Trying to get pregnant quick? Start by slowing down.
Many women are able to recognize subtle bodily changes that indicate the start of their menstrual cycle, their body’s fertility window, and the moment they become pregnant. The more you are able to stay in the present moment, the more you are able to listen to your body’s way of communication and recognize signs for quicker conception.
A woman about to start their menstrual cycle may experience an increased appetite, body soreness, irritability. The moment of the first “release”, their appetite may cease to exist and energy may return.
Every woman is different and their body responds different to each phase of a menstrual cycle. If you are trying to conceive, the first step is to obviously stop taking birth control. You can learn your body’s natural rhythms with or without added hormones, but I find it easier to recognize my body’s signs without external hormone or medication interruptions.
I’m now using an intrauterine device to prevent conception… But when I wasn’t on birth control, I could pretty much tell the exact moment I would start and end a period. I was also very accurate on predicting when my body was ovulating. I knew I was pregnant two times because the “accident” occurred when I was about 99% sure I was ovulating.
How’d I know? I was just really in touch with what was happening in my body all the time.
Try these two simple steps to slow down your mind and listen to your body. This way you will have a better chance at discovering your body’s exact moments of ovulation, so you have a higher chance at conceiving when you are ready.
1. Morning Meditation
A simple 5-10 minutes every morning or night can help to slow your mind from the hustle and bustle of life. This is an important step to start connecting with your body’s natural rhythms. If you are constantly focusing on all the stress in your life, especially the stress of trying to conceive in your desired timeframe, you will actually be counterproductive.
- Set timer for 5-10 minutes.
- Sit upright in a chair.
- Place hands in your lap.
- Take 1-2 deep breaths.
- Pay attention to your natural breathing rhythm.
- If thoughts pop in your mind, which they will if you’re not accustomed to the silence, simply acknowledge it and return to focusing on your breath.
It’s very simple. The longer you can meditate, the more you will benefit from the peacefulness. However, consistency is key. If you can only do 5 minutes each day, dedicate 5 minutes every day.
There are so many benefits of practicing mindfulness. Let’s first look at the definition:
1 : the quality or state of being mindful
2 : the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis; also such a state of awareness
The best way to be mindful is to focus on every task without daydreaming of the past or future. If you are driving down the road, only focus on the task of driving. If you are eating dinner, focus on the food. How does it taste? Don’t rush through your meal to get to the next part of your day. Take each moment at a time. Embrace it, whether it’s good or bad.
Consistent meditation will also help you be more mindful throughout the day. It will naturally be carried on throughout the day. The more you practice living in the present moment, the more you will be able to feel and notice your body’s natural cycles. You won’t be able to avoid figuring out a regular pattern of how you feel mentally and physically throughout the month.
Journalling is a great way to recognize patterns quicker. Try writing down how you feel each day in a small notebook or through a phone app especially if you aren’t used to meditating and practicing mindfulness.
Biggest Sign You are Ovulating
The easiest way to tell your body is ovulating is to pay attention to the time you are most sexually aroused each month. Most woman ovulate around 14 days before the start of their menstrual cycle. Pay attention to your moods throughout each month and I can guarantee you will find a pattern on when you are the most sexually active. I believe I was most sexually aroused for 2-3 days or so around day 13 of my cycle. Even if you’re highly sexually active all month long or not at all, you should notice even the slightest increase in arousal when you are most fertile. It’s different for every woman but it was my sure sign that my body was ovulating, making it the best time to conceive a child.
Our bodies were perfectly designed to reproduce. It makes biological sense to be the most sexually active at the time your body is most fertile. Humans are programmed to survive and evolve, so focusing on these natural rhythms can be highly beneficial for choosing the moment to try and conceive.
After you have figured out your body’s natural cycle… And you feel it’s the right time to conceive your baby…
